Darwin Poinciana Inn

The staff was lovely. The bed was very clean and comfortable. The handbasin etc was very clean. The front of the toilet pedestal needs a good clean, though. I was very surprised that the floors in the passageway, stairwell and lift hadn't been swept or mopped for I don't know how long. (I did notice, though, after about 4 days there that the staff had actually gotten around to doing it.) The managers were very good and were really trying to get into the swing of things. They had only been there for a few weeks and I think they were still trying to find their way around.

As per Guest PatriciaFlynn- Scrutton Only found bed a bit low aircon amazing, pool looked great though didn't use. Great location . Some cutlery and plates would be good to accomany microwave. Very very happy otherwise. Will return . Awesome that there was a lift in place. Was constantly advised re security , refurbishing .which was great

The room was clean and well presented. The hotel is close to the city making walking to where I wanted to go so easily. I received easy and clear instructions on getting the key for my room.

Firstly you need to know this is an older motel style of accommodation. If you're looking for the Hilton this is not it, but, its clean, it is well maintained, the managers and cleaners do a cracking job. The towels are changed regularly, as is the bedding. There is a fridge and TV in each room but no cooking facilities. The hotel also has a nice pool and BBQ area. Air-conditioning was A+. Its in a cracking location on Smith Street so close to everything. Bars, Mindil Beach, Cullen Bay, Darwin Waterfront etc

Good location, value for money, and family that runs the place. I always appreciate coffee in-room, and they give a kettle with lots of sachets of instant.
